Turbeskrivelse
This weekend I had the immense pleasure Looping the upper part of the Shouf Cedars Reserve, from Maaser El Shouf all the way to the Barouk side and back, via the Antenna Summit and the Summit Ridge.
These 4 Pictures will illustrate why it was such an awesome journey, a journey I insist on doing at least once per year.
- Picture 1 : Hiking next to the Giant Cedars of the Reserve gives an incredible boost of energy. I can spend the whole day surrounded by these amazing Trees!
- Picture 2 : The indescribable beauty of the view from the summit ridge over the Bekaa Valley, Mount Hermon and the Qaraoun Lake..
- Picture 3 : As we moved towards the Barouk side of the Reserve this incredible sight appeared : 4 Summits right in front of us! The Barouk Summit, Qornet El Sibeh the Ain Zhalta Summit (Highest Geodesic Point of the reserve), El Kneisseh, and Mount Sannine! 4 Summits in 1 Shot!
- Picture 4 : The Blooming Cedars. Watch these Amazing Cedar Cones. They have an upright, waxy appearance. Soon, we’ll be able to spot them on the ground where they look quite a bit like the leaves of an artichoke, dried out..
