Turbeskrivelse
Day One of a three day hike in the Cades Cove section of the Smoky Mountains. We did this as a three day loop by parking in the Gregory Ridge trailhead on Forge Creek Road (road closed in the winter - and the one way Parson Branch Road shown on the map has been permanently closed).
Starting at the Gregory Ridge parking lot, we did an easy two mile road walk to Wet Bottom Trail trailhead on the Cades Cove Loop Road. Followed Wet Bottom Trail to Rabbit Creek Trail, ending the day with a climb to Campsite 16. There were some minor knee-high stream crossings on this route, and water source at Campsite 16 was poor.
