Turbeskrivelse
Two fine lookouts are included in this trail. First a climb on a bush path that winds up to a plateau. Then a descent from the ridge to another plateau. A short excursion brings you to the Gib Lookout - with a view of Mount Gibraltar, highest peak on the Southern Highlands. A pleasant walk along firetrails (including one very steep but quite short descent) brings you to Gundungurrah Corner (named after the Aboriginal tribe local to this area.). Soon after you come to an impressive rock formation which I call Gibbergunyah Rock. It is worth going up close to the rock to see the plaques attached. Every April, local Aboriginal people and friends have a ceremony at this place. A short walk then brings you to the 90-Acre Hill Lookout which has a splendid view. A compass-plaque on a stone cairn shows directions of various towns and landscape features. On the return walk I descended via Cec's Firetrail to the end of Howards Lane, where there is room for parking.
